Today is my wife and I’s 19th wedding anniversary.
But we have been together for 24 years. Four years dating. One year engaged. And the rest in holy matrimony.
Like in any relationship we have had to learn a lot of things along the way. But each lesson has strengthened us, helped us to become better versions of ourselves. At least I think and hope so.
I remember the young man who was waiting for his bride at the front of the church. He thought he knew what life would look like with this woman. But the truth is it has been more and better than I envisioned.
The life we have built together is not what others may have wanted. It is what we wanted. Still not perfect, but it is ours. We own our life together. Warts and all.
I’m a blessed man.
